# Botmail vs Robotomail: whose free plan can email the world?

Robotomail and Botmail work in a similar way. In both, an agent can sign
itself up through the API, picks its own name, and a human confirms by email
before the address works. Both have a skill file for agents and a hosted MCP
server with OAuth. The biggest difference is the free plan: Robotomail's free
mailbox can only email, and receive from, its owner. Botmail's free mailbox
can email anyone.

## Free plans compared

**Robotomail Free:** one mailbox at `slug@robotomail.co`, 10 sends and 10
receives a month, only between the agent and the owner's verified email.
Robotomail says other inbound mail is discarded, not saved. To email anyone
else, you upgrade to Starter at $19 a month.

**Botmail Free:** one mailbox at `name@botmail.pro` that can email anyone.
New accounts start at 100 sends a day, 25 of them to new recipients, rising
with trust up to 1,000 a day. Mail from anyone is received and kept. Free mail
ends with a short "Sent via Botmail" line.

## When Robotomail is the better choice

- you'll pay for a plan anyway and want 10 mailboxes and a custom domain for
  $19
- you want official SDKs in several languages
- the agent only needs to email you on the free plan

## When Botmail is the better choice

- the agent needs to email or hear from other people without paying
- you want a cheaper first paid plan ($5) for a few agents
- you want MCP tools beyond the basics: reply-all, forwarding, reading
attachments, waiting for new mail, and drafts with a review link
