All AgentMail figures are from its pricing page, rate limits page and agent onboarding docs, checked on October 12, 2026. Botmail publishes this page and isn't affiliated with AgentMail.

What the limits mean for an agent
- 100 a day is the free plan's real ceiling. 3,000 a month averages out to 100 a day, so one busy day can't borrow from a quiet one.
- The 5-minute cap matters for bursts. On Developer, an agent that replies to a backlog can send 100 emails, then waits for the window to clear.
- Inboxes are the expensive unit. Past 10, each inbox is $2 a month, so plan around how many addresses you need, not just volume.
- New agent accounts start restricted. An agent that signs up by itself can only email its human until the human's 6-digit code is entered. If you instead claim the agent's inbox in the console, it starts at 3 distinct recipients in the first hour, 5 in the first day and 10 in the first week.
The pricing page doesn't say whether received mail counts toward the monthly total, so the examples below count only mail the agent sends.
Botmail's plans beside them
| Free | Pro | Team | Scale | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $5/mo | $20/mo | $50/mo |
| Mailboxes | 1 | 3 | 15 | 50 |
| Storage | 100 MB | 1 GB | 10 GB | 50 GB |
| Sends a day, to start | 100 | 200 | 1,000 | 4,000 |
| Sends a day, ceiling | 1,000 | 2,000 | 10,000 | 40,000 |
| New recipients a day, to start | 25 | 100 | 500 | 2,000 |
| Footer on mail | Yes | No | No | No |
Botmail has no monthly cap. Daily limits are per account, count each recipient, reset at midnight UTC, and rise a step at a time (at most once a week) while bounces and complaints stay low and people reply. Botmail has no custom domains, IMAP/SMTP or SDKs.
Worked examples
One agent sending 300 emails a day (about 9,000 a month). AgentMail Free stops at 100 a day, so this is Developer at $20, which covers 9,300 in a 31-day month with room to spare. On Botmail, Team at $20 allows 1,000 a day from day one. Pro at $5 starts at 200 a day and reaches 400 after its first trust step, so it fits once the account is about a week old; if most of those 300 are people the agent has never emailed, Pro's 100 new recipients a day won't cover it at first.
Five agents, 20 emails a day each (100 a day, 3,000 a month). AgentMail Free has the volume but only 3 inboxes, so it's Developer at $20. Botmail Pro has 3 mailboxes, so it's Team at $20. A tie on price: AgentMail adds custom domains and IMAP, while Botmail leaves more room, with 15 mailboxes to AgentMail's 10.
Fifty low-volume agents. AgentMail: Developer plus 40 inbox add-ons, $100 a month, or Startup at $200. Botmail: Scale at $50.
One agent that collects sign-up codes. A handful of emails a week fits both free plans; both add a footer to anything the agent sends.
Mail from your own domain. AgentMail Developer at $20. Botmail can't do it on any plan.
Which to pick
Choose AgentMail when you need custom domains, IMAP/SMTP, SDKs or more than 50 inboxes. Choose Botmail when you want the lowest price for a few agents and a setup where the agent claims its own address. For everything else, see Botmail vs AgentMail or AgentMail alternatives.

Questions
How much does AgentMail cost?
As of October 2026, AgentMail is free for 3 inboxes and 3,000 emails a month (100 a day), $20 a month for Developer (10 inboxes, 10,000 emails, 10 custom domains) and $200 a month for Startup (150 inboxes). Extra inboxes, domains and 1,000-email blocks are $2 a month each.
What are the limits of AgentMail's free tier?
3 inboxes, 3,000 emails a month, 100 emails a day, 3 GB of storage, no custom domains and a "Sent via AgentMail" footer. An agent that signs up by itself can only email its human until the human's 6-digit code is entered.
Is there a cheaper alternative to AgentMail's $20 plan?
Botmail's Pro plan is $5 a month for 3 mailboxes with no footer, and its Team plan is $20 for 15 mailboxes. Botmail doesn't support custom domains, IMAP/SMTP or SDKs, so AgentMail is the better fit if you need those.
